8 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Edit/Proofread Your Own Book | Book Market It!

This post is based on a common mistake taken from my FREE email course: Book Marketing Mistakes to Avoid.

Go on, ask me who my editor is. Um, the truth is I don’t have one.

Don’t have one?? How can you hope to sell your book without one?

I know, I’m unusual and maybe stupid, too, but there are good reasons for my decision.

Everything I do, I do alone. No, I’m not anti-social (much) and no, it’s not because no-one likes me. It’s more to do with, ‘I can’t work with anyone because I’m positively hell to work with and I’m likely to cause a rift.’

You could say that most writers are hell to work with but, believe me, I have a different kind of hell which is unique to me and my personal difficulties. You’ll have to take my word for that one. However, I’m totally wrong and an idiot for not even trying to work with an editor. Here’s 8 reasons why:
