Since the start of the year I’ve been trying to plan out my Savior of the Serpent Isles series, which is based on my Shadow Stalker serial. The problem is, because of the way I wrote the serial (in other words a very different format than what you’d use for a novel), I haven’t been able to figure out how to write each individual novel so it would have it’s own plot. It’s been making me crazy.
Well, the other night I decided there’s no point in trying to force it if it’s not going to work. So I came up with a new idea. Instead of novelizing my Shadow Stalker serial, I’m going to do a series about Makari and how he goes from being his father’s puppet to being his own man and doing what he feels is right.
It will still follow the Shadow Stalker serial to a point, but it’s going to be Makari’s story. I’ll be starting on that this month, but first I have to write Episode 16 of my Shadow Stalker serial and a short story I’m submitting to Crimson Edge for entry into their Maidens and Magic anthology (if it’s accepted). If any authors out there are interested, you can get more info here.
Next series I’m hoping to write is about the first war with the Galvadi Empire… you’ll get to see Drevin in all his insanity as he takes over the Serpent Isles and tries to destroy the shadow stalkers. 😀
I have no title for this new series yet, but I’ll let you know as soon as I figure it out! I’m certainly open to suggestions. If you have any ideas, leave them in the comments section.
I feel like New Years Day was just the other week and it’s March already. So far this year I’ve gotten far less writing done than I wanted to. January was going great, then in February I lost my computer for about two weeks when it decided to stop working. Since then I feel like all I’ve been doing is playing catch up with everything else, except for the writing I was hoping to have nearly completed by now.
I’m certainly not giving up. I just can’t believe how quickly time is going by and how little I seem to be getting done. So this month I’m going to be really making an effort to focus my writing. I still have a lot of other stuff to catch up on, but I can’t push writing aside to do it.
My goal for this month is to have the outline for The Galvadi Invasion completed and to have at least started on my first draft! And I’m hoping by this time next month, I can tell you I’ve accomplished that! 😀
What are your writing goals for this month?

Hi and welcome to another WIP Wednesday!
Not much has really changed since last week. I’m still working on getting The Galvadi Invasion planned out. It’s mostly planned out and now I just have to write the outline. Then I can start the writing. It’s going to be a bit longer than I originally anticipated. I’m hoping it won’t be too long… what is too long? I mean is 500 to 600 pages too long for a first in series novel? ***Feedback Appreciated***
I’ve decided to more slowly work on Episode 15 of Shadow Stalker, so I’ll be writing a chapter a week for now. Not sure I’ll do the same with Episode 16, but it’s helping me keep up with everything else for now, and I can still post a chapter a week to Patreon for those who want to read as I write.
I’ve only got a few chapters left of Makari’s Mission to edit as well, which also has weekly chapters being published on Patreon. Oddly, I’m in the process of adding a new scene to that one, which is also going to be a part of The Galvadi Invasion, so I have to make sure it fits well with both stories.
Episode 14 is nearly complete too, and I’ll be publishing that one on my website for those who like to purchase them individually. 😀
That’s all ’til next week. Happy reading everyone!
