Calista opened her eyes and screamed as pain tore through her partially healed shoulder. A Dansig Trooper stood over her. Several others surrounded her, their weapons pointed at her. As the trooper removed his boot from her shoulder, she pulled out her knife, slashing it towards anyone of them that got too close. She attempted to get to her feet, but one of them knocked the knife out of her hand as the rest start kicking. She curled into a ball, instinctively covering her head.
When they finally stopped their assault, the trooper who had stepped on her shoulder—who seemed to be in charge—pulled her to her feet. Another trooper locked one of her arms behind her and held out the other to the first trooper. A metallic device was placed around her wrist. As soon as it was locked into place, she felt a sharp stab of pain and cried out. Suddenly, she felt nauseous and week. Both of her arms were then placed in cuffs behind her, the bar that locked the cuffs digging painfully into her arm.
“Where’s your friend?” the higher ranking trooper asked.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
He punched her in the gut, but the trooper holding Cali prevented her from doubling over, which intensified the pain and made it harder to breathe.
“Let’s try this again,” he said, grabbing her face and forcing her to look at him. “Where is your friend?”
