The Winchester Brothers Tour – Review of Addy’s Choice

image for websiteToday I have the special privilege of introducing a new author, Nat Hobson, who is actually not so new. She is a friend and one my favorite authors:

Nat Hobson is a pseudonym of Melissa Barker-Simpson. Publishing under Nat, she concentrates on her passion for writing love stories, focusing on contemporary romance. Although there is an element of romance in all her novels, this is usually interwoven in tales of crime, fantasy or science fiction. By writing as Nat, this allows her to write everyday stories of love, and friendship for a specific audience.

About the Books

Addy's Choice Front Cover 03Addy’s Choice (Book 1)

Sometimes the hardest thing about lowering our defenses is the fear of how far we might fall.

That fear had been Adrienne Baxter’s driving force most of her life. It was far easier to hide behind her radio personality, feeding from her audience, than to risk exposure.

She had James, her brother by choice if not by blood. It was enough – most of the time.

As the co-host of the early morning breakfast show at Music 101, Adrienne is the confident, sassy presenter with the silver tongue and fast-talking wit.

When she meets Sebastian Davies, the station owner’s son, her carefully applied facade begins to slip. He presents a new kind of danger, because this time she could lose her heart.

Tyler Davies was eighteen when he met the fiery beast he would later battle on a regular basis. Seduced by the beauty of her flaming touch, he had looked right into the heart of the fire and known she had claimed him.

It was the second time he’d seen his future. The first was the day he met Lilly-May Saunders, a girl who burned so bright he was blind to anyone else. If it hadn’t been for her friendship with his brother, a relationship he didn’t truly understand, he would have confessed his feelings. But when his friend dies in the line of duty, and Tyler discovers the truth behind the accident, everything changes. Those he loves are in danger, and the one who owns his heart is at the top of the list.

Review of Addy’s Choice

Two words…Loved it! I’m not usually a big fan of romance, but this book really sucked me in. I didn’t want it to end.

I love a story that feels real and that’s how Addy’s Choice felt to me. Even the “love at first site” aspect didn’t have that fairytale quality that usually turns me off in a romance. I knew from the moment the two main character, Addy Baxter and Sebastian Davies, met it was a deep, almost spiritual, recognition that drew them together, despite Addy’s misgivings.

Every character in the story came alive; their personalities were so genuine I really felt like I was reading about people who might exist in the real world. I fell in love with all of them.

It’s not easy to create a deeply intense and emotional story, but Nat Hobson (a.k.a Melissa Barker-Simpson) really pulled it off. I cried and laughed and cried again. I can’t wait to read Heart of Fire, the next book in the series.

Wow, that’s quite a review, my friend! You made me want to read it again, and believe me I’ve read it a lot…what with the editing process and all 😉 Thanks for your support during the tour. The only downside of spending so much time with my characters is that I want to start on Dylan’s story and I just don’t know how I’m going to fit it in with everything else! I’m thrilled you enjoyed Addy and Sebastian’s story 🙂

You’re so welcome, and yes, I know what you mean about reading it over and over. I’ve actually got a book suggestion for you that gives an alternate method of editing rather than the old linear method. It’s actually a great book all around. I’ll email you about it! (and I’ll do a review on my blog about it for anyone who’s wondering… it’s called 2k to 10k).
