Many people may wonder if investing in skirting boards is really a good solution. Of course, today you can also lay laminates without this additional solution, but it has so many advantages that it is definitely worth taking slats under consideration. Why we usually decide to lay them? Most panels work after the floor has been laid. When we walk on them or put something on them, then their dimensions may be slightly divergent. For this reason it is usually necessary to leave a small expansion gap, i.e. space between a wall and panels. During work of panels, they have a possibility to slightly change their dimensions, at the same time not influencing negatively the floor itself. Of course, the expansion gap itself does not look very good and it is worth covering it in some way. The ideal solution then is to use skirting boards, which will immediately mask the entire surface.

Covering the bottom part of the wall, we also gain another functionality. While washing floors or vacuuming them, we won’t hit the wall all the time. This could lead primarily to its dampness, but also to chipping of paint. In addition, very often when finishing the lower part of the wall, there are some shortcomings. Slat covers everything and we do not have to worry whether we managed to do everything perfectly every centimeter.

Lagrus slats have been present on the market for many years. During this time, the company has released a lot of its own products, which differ from each other mainly in shape and size. However, their basic functionality is similar in each model. Below are some of the three most popular models, which are undoubtedly worth taking into consideration.

The first model are functional slats Classir r10. This model is divided into Classir r10 mini, Classic r10 moisture-proof and the standard model – Classic r10. A skirting board in a mini version is characterized by smaller dimensions first of all. Moisture-proof, however, is suitable for use in all those rooms where there is more moisture, for example, in the bathroom. A standard skirting board is characterized by dimensions such as height 80 mm, length 2.44 mb and thickness 16 mm. The slats are primarily produced in white, but for an additional charge, you can also choose another color from the available palette. The skirting boards are varnished properly, that’s why the insulation is laid first, then the primer and then the surface. In any case, the bottom edge of the skirting board is protected against moisture. Slats also have milling for cables. They are made of MDF, and they can be laid using special glue.

The next model is the Classic R5 strip. It also comes in several versions, namely the standard, moisture-resistant, PLUS version in black and as a Classic R5 natural oak veneer trim. The standard strip has dimensions 16x80x2440. It is maintained in white and has a three-layer varnish. Its edge is also specially protected against moisture, it also has a milling for cables and you can install it yourself using the appropriate glue.

The last model is Athena 80. This is certainly a unique model if you consider its top finish, which is definitely more impressive and unique. However, other features, this model has exactly the same as the two strips mentioned above. It also comes with milling, protected edge or three-layer painting.
