Active leisure in Rabka-Zdrój
For people who like active leisure, Rabka-Zdrój can be an ideal destination. This picturesque mountain town offers its visitors a wide range of attractions both within the town itself and in the surrounding beautiful countryside.
In the very center of Rabka-Zdrój is located the Spa Park, where since 2014 operates a great attraction for lovers of skateboards, rollerblades and bicycles. The most modern skate and trial park complex in Małopolska has been opened here, along with a track for wheelchair. You do not have to worry about transportation to the park – thanks to a reliable transport company Misiek Taxi operating 24 hours a day in Rabka-Zdrój, you can quickly and efficiently move between the objects. Rabka’s skatepark allows you to practice sports such as:
- roller skating
- skateboarding
- trial
- bmx
- mountain bikes
- summer and winter snowboarding
- parkour (both amateur and professional)
On the trialpark area there were also created terrain obstacles, placed between the existing trees. This is a great place to spend time in an active and fun way. The trial park area is divided into 3 zones, in which different types of obstacles are placed:
- Zone A – an earth mound about 150cm high with rocks, stones and boulders embedded in the ground
- Zone B – wooden obstacles made of logs and tree trunks combined with boulders
- Zone C – obstacles using wooden cable spools
In the distance approx. 3 km from the center of Rabka-Zdrój there is a hill named Królewska Góra. Since 2011, there is a wooden observation tower over 25m high, from which there are beautiful views. From its highest point you can see panoramas of the mountains – the Gorce, Beskid Wyspowy, Babia Góra and the Tatra Mountains.
The tower is open to the public and can be reached by. the blue hiking trail or from the ski lift “Polczakówka”, located in Rabka – Zarytem – the tower is located next to its upper station. However, for those who do not like to walk far or for the elderly and infirm who have come to Rabka to rest, a much better option will be to use the services of Misiek Taxi, which is available in Rabka-Zdroj 24 hours / 7 days a week.
Within the village and all around there are planned hiking trails of varying difficulty and length. Also not far from the center of Rabka-Zdrój (only 15 minutes walk), hidden in the forest thicket, there is an Educational Trail. It was created in 2004 with a view to tourists and local residents who seek rest among beautiful nature, and at the same time feel like spending their free time in an active way.
